Telehealth Services Update
As of October 1, 2025, the Medicare telehealth flexibilities have expired due to the federal government shutdown. Medicare coverage for telehealth services has reverted to pre-pandemic rules. Medicare patients can no longer access telehealth services from home; they must originate from approved rural facilities. This includes Medicare, Medicare Advantage, and Tricare members. Additionally, major commercial insurers, including Aetna, UnitedHealthcare, and Blue Cross Blue Shield, have announced they are mirroring Medicare’s restrictions, effective immediately. This includes limiting telehealth to approved facilities. At this time, no Patriot Urgent Care locations are approved for Medicare telehealth services. All Medicare patients must be seen in person. Patients with commercial insurance can utilize telehealth services from home ONLY if they self-pay.
